Our Commitment
North Smethwick Development Trust (NSDT) wants to work with our community to bring young people together through meaningful and fun activities which promote good mental health, provides a greater understanding and respect of people of different ages heritage within our diverse community and to develop their own personal aspirational plan and help them to reach their goals.
- Directly support young people to develop their social, emotional and spiritual skills and build their confidence by providing programmes of activities, services and facilities at Brasshouse Community Centre.
- Ensure that young people actively participate and that their ideas contribute fully in the planning, delivery and evaluation of sessions, projects and activities.
- To devise, plan, directly deliver and co-ordinate a team of staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality youth programme that is safe, innovative, challenging and responds positively to the diverse needs, concerns and interests of our community.
- To develop and facilitate educational workshops for and with young people.

HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES & FOOD PROGRAMME
There are lots of great, exciting activities planned for children and young people right across Sandwell this holiday period from horse riding to rock climbing there really is something for everyone. Holiday Activities are a brilliant way to try new things, make new friends and learn new skills.
If you meet the criteria you will receive an E-voucher prior to Easter, Summer and Winter holidays through email or via text message. This will have booking information and codes you need to book your child onto activities.

Go Play – Sessions are open to all children and young people aged 5-12, and it is free to attend. They run during the school holidays, after school or at the weekend. The sessions are run by trained playworkers, who are there to support children and young people to have fun and learn new skills. Just Youth – provide a range of free activities aimed at 11 to 19-year-olds (up to 25 for those with SEND) right across Sandwell. They offer sports, arts, music virtual reality experience and more. They also run 7 open access youth clubs and have 2 detached teams in each town. SeaVenturers is an exciting new programme from Sea Cadets, designed to bring confidence-boosting, nautical-themed adventures to even more young people.
For Young People (Ages 9–11)
SeaVenturers gives you the chance to:
Build confidence, resilience and valuable life skills
- Make new friends and feel part of a team
- Learn fun and practical skills like navigation, morse code, and more
- It’s all about discovering your potential through fun, hands-on activities and teamwork.
