NSDT Benefits from free blood pressure monitors

We were our the moon to be one of the eight community groups in Sandwell to be chosen to receive 100 blood pressure monitors.

Improving health and well-being for our
  • Community.
  • people.
  • Sandwell.

Cannock logistics firm Super Smart Service Ltd worked with and donated blood pressure monitors for the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to give to residents who would benefit the most.

Working with Sandwell Council Public Health, the WMCA’s wellbeing team and the company have now presented the monitors to eight community groups in Sandwell and are one of them.

Councillor Suzanne Hartwell, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for adults, social care and health, said: “We want the people of Sandwell to live healthily and to live well for longer, so we welcome the donation of 100 blood pressure monitors by Super Smart Service Ltd. These will greatly assist in delivering community-based opportunities that help local people, meet their needs, and build a healthier, more resilient Sandwell.”

Jenn Harrison BEM, Chief Executive Officer of North Smethwick Development Trust, said: “This is fantastic news for our community centre and the local population. We already run activities and services that improve health and well-being, such as our food pantry, women’s health programmes to encourage people to have a healthy lifestyle. Giving people access to these good quality machines will help to start a conversation and take the first steps to improve their health and wellbeing.”

Charles Lu, general manager of Super Smart Service, said: “We take our social responsibility very seriously, and this is a joint donation from us and our client Andon Health Company, which specialises in making the blood pressure monitors. We decided to make this donation to help people who are in need, promote health and wellbeing for the community and contribute to addressing health inequalities.”

These will greatly assist in delivering community-based opportunities that help local people, meet their needs, and build a healthier, more resilient Sandwell."
