We are an ideal place for training, seminars and conferences, private functions, parties, weddings, baby showers, funerals, birthday parties, corporate and community events and other activities. We also have an in-house catering service, at competitive prices and a delicious menu options, catering to a range of dietary and cultural requirements.

Easy to reach
We are conveniently located at just 1/2 a mile from M5 Junction 1 and has ample free parking. Our centre is ideal for public transport with the 89 bus stop outside and being less than a 10 minute walk from Rolfe Street, Hawthorns train station and metro line and is in close proximity to Smethwick Galton Bridge. We’re also less than 30 minutes away from Birmingham International Airport.
In-house catering
Our unparalleled full in-house catering service is available upon request. We use only the finest locally sourced ingredients in our delicious food and any profits go back into the local community.

Brasshouse Hall
Capacity - up to 120 people
Our very own Brasshouse Hall is suitable for a variety of functions, from birthday parties and family gatherings to business meetings and community events and measures approximately 15 metres by 10 metres.
Due to the flexibility of our rooms we can also provide the option of adding additional capacity of up to 30 guests by combining the Hadley Hall, giving ample room for up to 150 guests.
Our Brasshouse Hall benefits from air conditioning for heating and cooling.


Hadley Hall
Capacity - up to 30 people
Perfect for training, seminars, conferences and small gatherings with a capacity of up to 30 guests, Hadley Hall is an ideal place for hosting small to medium events or meetings for work or your organisation.
Hadley Hall is a modern and contemporary space creating a blank canvas to set the right tone for any event. The space measures 15 metres by 3.5 metres.


Mike Swain Room
Capacity - up to 15 people
Upcoming training event or meeting? We’ve got the perfect meeting space for you. Light and airy with comfortable seating, set in a board room style table arrangement.
The room benefits from a digital screen and air conditioning with the space lending itself to meetings, training and networking activities for up to 15 guests. The room’s dimensions are approximately 4.3 metres by 5.7 metres, providing ample space for productive discussions and collaborative work.


Cafe and Lobby Area
The home of our delicious food and cooking, our Brasshouse Cafe and lobby area is at the centre of our community. Freshly made drinks, breakfasts, lunches and snacks are available in our beautiful café inside Brasshouse Community Centre, in the heart of North Smethwick.
For some events we will open our popup Brasshouse cafe giving people the opportunity to have refreshments before an event. Our delicious ingredients help to support the local economy and our profits are put back into the work we do in the local community.
Our lobby area is also a place to sit and relax, take part in activities. We also have a digital area where you may use our computers, free of charge, to access the internet, access your emails or print.

The Brasshouse Hall can hold up to 120 people.
Our Hadley Hall holds up to 30 people
When combining the Brasshouse and Hadley Halls, this can hold up to 150 people.
The Mike Swain Room holds up to 15
Our prices are dependent on the type of hire and event you are looking at, one of our friendly team would be happy to discuss your requirements with you.
Our private hire does require a Security Bond for all bookings. This is refundable providing our terms and conditions are met.
The Brasshouse Community Centre is located on Brasshouse Lane, Smethwick, West Midlands, B66 1BA and is conveniently located at just 1/2 a mile from M5 Junction 1 and has ample free parking. We are ideal for public transport and is less than a 10 minute walk from Rolfe Street, Hawthorns train station and metro line and is in close proximity to Smethwick Galton Bridge. We’re also approximately 30 minutes away from Birmingham International Airport by train.
In terms of the bus network, the Number 89 stops outside the centre.
We have ample free parking to the rear of the Community Centre.
We do however, provide a match car parking service when our Local Football Team, West Bromwich Albion, play a home game, so do check with us when considering venue hire.
Free Wifi is available throughout the building for our customers. Just at reception for details.
You are not permitted to smoke or vape anywhere on the premises. A designated smoking and vaping area is available, please speak to a member of staff for location.
If you would like to include alcohol at your event, you are able to give this away to your guests. We ask that this is consumed within the hired space and not in common areas or within the car park or external spaces.
If alcohol is to be consumed at the event, we ask that guests conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. We do not tolerate rude and abusive behaviour or violence of any kind towards our staff team and incidents will be reported to the police.
As our rooms are booked seven days a week, this is not possible.
You will have access to the oven and cooker hobs, microwaves, sinks and preparation space. We do not have fridges available to use.
We ask that no more than 4 people at any given time are to be within the kitchen for health and safety reasons.
Also, strictly no children or persons under the age of 16 allowed in the kitchen.
Cancellation 28 days before the start of the hire = no charge.
Cancellation 14 days before the start of the hire = 50% of total costs.
Cancellation 7 days before the start of the hire = 100% of total costs.
Most people who use our space pick an area to hire, although we are here to make things work for you, so if you would like to hire more than one space, we’ll see what we can do.
However, we do require all hirers to remain within their hire space for their event as there may be other people using other parts of the building, enabling free access through communal spaces.
Your booking times should include your time to set-up and set down. Due to the nature of our operations, this is not possible.
Yes you can, all current legislations (two metre gaps and sides) should be adhered to. You must take into account the reduction in room capacity when having soft play/DJ equipment inside the hired space.
Please note we do not allow for external bouncy castles or inflatables on site.
Please ensure that children are supervised at all times when using any bouncy castles or other play equipment to avoid incidents and accidents.
No, due to fire safety, this is not permissible.
We ask all of our customers to put any rubbish/left over food / decorations or unwanted items into the designated bins within the room. Any excess rubbish / left over food / decorations of other items not wanted must be put into refuse bags to enable our duty staff team to dispose of and start the cleaning process.
