DESCRIPTION:Why not come along and walk\, get healthy and make new friends on one of our walk leader led walks. All you need to do is book in on this free walking session.\n\nCome and join us for our “Let’s Mindfulness Walk” down Galton Valley Canal as we enjoy wildlife and natural beauty and keep fit at the same time. It’s a walk with a difference as we do a mindfulness session and instil positivity by appreciating the positive contributions we make in the world.\n\nMeeting point for the walk is Brasshouse Community Centre\, Brasshouse Lane\, Smethwick\, B66 1BA. The walk will be 1.2km long so would be ok for children above seven years of age as well.\n\nToilet facilities are available at the Brasshouse Community Centre\n\nThese sessions are designed for adults and for children from seven years old upwards as an introduction to walking and are easy grade along our amazing towpaths. Learn a bit of history or see some awesome wildlife which is around every turn on our waterways.\n\nParents and Guardians are required to accompany their children on this walk.\n\nDogs are welcome to join\, but we ask they remain on a short lead and with consideration of other walk participants.

DESCRIPTION:Being a Badger\nBadgers are the youngest St John people\, aged under 11. Anyone can join a Badger Sett\, which operate across England. Badgers usually meet once a week for around 1 hour 30 minutes. \nBadgers take part in a wide range of fun activities based on essential first aid and other fascinating topics\, earning badges and certificates for each one. For every three subjects a Badger completes\, they receive an award until they achieve their Super Badger Award. \nTo give each new Badger the best possible introduction\, Welcome Badger provides a range of activities to ensure all new Badgers and their parents/carers are provided with all the essentials in the first few important weeks. \nOur Badger programme covers a wide range of subjects and activities\, from first aid to communication skills\, to healthy living and being safe. All the subjects have been written by St John people with the aim of Badgers in mind and to support children through their learning and development journey. \nBadgers can: \n\nlearn first aid\nmake new friends\nget creative with arts and crafts\nfind out how the body works and how to stay healthy\nlearn about helping their local community\ntake part in team games\ndevelop leadership and communication skills\, and much more!
